The payment card giant – Mastercard – a consociate of over 25,000 financial institutions has announced the recruitment of specialists in blockchain technology, including seniors in cryptocurrency and wallet development.
Career at Mastercard?
According to the announcement on the company website, Mastercard is looking for a wide range of specialists – engineers, team leads, directors of innovation, and crypto or wallet developers. Sounds amazing, so does Mastercard finally trust crypto, what with all their love of fiat?
Among all career advertisements, one information appears everywhere – a request for people familiar with crypto solutions, regardless if they’re searching for technology specialists or people managing the launch of new products on the market, Mastercard makes it clear in what direction their project is going.
As the offer reads:
“Clear the path of ideation, definition, design and development of innovative solutions from the world of cryptocurrency, including portfolio solutions.”
Positive change and Facebook
Interesting is the very positive narrative about the crypto world, something rarely encountered previously in Mastercard statements. Words about building the future for their own grandchildren, fighting with powers that want to destroy order with fear, strategic maneuvering them for their own benefit. In short – Mastercard admits that blockchain is not going anywhere and will stay with us for generations to come.
Does this change come thanks to Mark Zuckerberg and the new Facebook solution – their currency Libra? Mastercard joined the Libra Association, a consortium supporting the new crypto solution of the social media giant. As Facebook is currently recruiting people to work on their own wallet – Calibra – it was immediately indicated that they intend to allow other wallets to join Libra. Is Mastercard hoping to join with its own app and gather bank customers?
Tell us what you think about the development of this situation and if you’re going to use Libra!
